I have recently become addicted to a YouTube web series. It is a modern day adaption of Jane Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice." Lizzie, as the protagonist, is engaging and humorous. (I am now reading the book because of this series) I love the idea of adapting a book into a web series. It allows for a lot more creative freedom than a network T.V. show allowing the creators to follow the book as closely as is reasonable. Another unique thing about this series is that the characters engage their audience on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and other major social media networks in character. This way it is not just something to watch, but something you can interact with.
There are some innuendos and mild swearing, but this makes sense in context of the book and since this is not a period piece, the creators have pulled it to the modern day, which means Lydia is well, yeah... Lydia.
The acting is great and the series is a lot of fun. I have linked the first episode below. There are now 53 episodes for you to enjoy and they come out every Monday and Thursday.
